Lincoln Bennett
I have a deep connection to four key items: learning, fitness, community, and flying. Learning, advanced courses through high school taught me problem-solving, dedication, and confidence, helping me excel in both academics and social situations. Fitness has transformed my confidence, pushing me to take on new challenges, including joining the wrestling team and being a leader. Community, engagement with earning my Eagle Scout badge shaping my values of integrity, leadership and community service. Flying, exploring and adventure has sparked my passion for aviation, and I’m now pursuing my private pilot license, driven by the joy of flight leading to a career.
Eagle Scout
The Eagle badge I earned as the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America, an organization I hold dear. Receiving my Eagle pin marked a pivotal transition from boyhood to manhood. It symbolizes the person I aspire to be a man who is respected, helpful to his community, and grounded in integrity. The values instilled in me through scouting significantly influence my daily choices.
Private Pilot Ground School
I had the incredible opportunity to fly in a Piper PA28 Cherokee. The captain allowed me to take control of the yoke, and the exhilaration I felt was profound. My body ignited with adrenaline, and my mind sharpened with focus. After that first flight, I knew in my heart that this was my passion. I enrolled in ground school and am now on my way to earning my private pilot license.
Investing / Financial
I enjoy researching and analyzing market trends to manage a personal investment portfolio; developing skills in financial analysis, risk management, and decision-making.
Statistics intrigues me for its ability to answer complex questions and reveal patterns that drive smarter decisions.
Outdoors
My love for the outdoors has been shaped by unforgettable experiences, especially through Scouting. Achieving the Triple Crown stands out as a highlight, marking my completion of high-adventure treks, including a 100-mile journey in New Mexico and over 80 miles in Canada’s Boundary Waters. Beyond Scouting, I've cherished exploring nature with family and friends, each adventure strengthening my appreciation for the wild places and the bonds we create along the way.
Traveling and cultures
Since I was young, I've been fortunate to travel and immerse myself in diverse places and cultures around the world. Each journey has deepened my appreciation for the variety of traditions, languages, and ways of life across different regions. This love of travel continues to inspire me, broadening my perspective and fueling my curiosity about the world.
Chess
Throughout my chess journey, I've been committed to both personal growth and community impact. I've participated in tournaments to hone my skills, have also enjoyed mentoring young players at a local library, and currently the president of my high school's chess club.
Coding and Computers
Through coding, AI and developing data driven projects like a Spotify recommender and a Wordle program, I’ve seen how data insights solve unique challenges and improve real-world outcomes. I’m excited to dive deeper, particularly into econometrics and business analytics, where statistics directly influences strategy.
